Mary Ann Martinez (Large), age 71, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, formerly of Antonito, CO, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 21st, 1952, to Filiberto and Marvine Large.

With boundless energy and determination, she embraced life with vitality and purpose. Her adventurous spirit defined her existence, whether she was exploring new places with loved ones or finding joy in life's simple pleasures. A few of her favorite past times included being at the beach or cheering passionately at football games and eagerly attending concerts of her favorite musicians. Although she had a keen eye for style, fashion, and adventure, she also found solace in a quieter pursuit like sewing, baking, home renovation projects and solving puzzles. These activities created ever lasting memories with her and her family through their shared experiences.

Her dedication to serving others extended beyond her family, spanning over 50 years as a seamstress, including her role at the Department of Veteran Affairs. Mary Ann's craftmanship and attention to detail only showcased her commitment and also brought comfort and dignity to countless individuals.

Mary Ann was predeceased by her parents, Filiberto and Marvine Large as well as her brothers Moises and George Large. She is survived by her three children Aldon Martinez, Renee Martinez and Patricia Martinez and her four grandchildren Kianna Martinez, D'Marco Salazar, Patrick Salazar and Bianca Martinez and her siblings Carlos Large, Danny Large, Margaret Large , and Carla Vandyke and close nieces and nephews. Her unconditional love and unwavering support are the pillars of her families strength. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to guide them through life's journey.

She leaves behind a profound legacy of love, laughter and unwavering strength, with her kindness, warmth, and infectious spirit touching many lives. While her absence will be deeply felt, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

We invite all who cherished Mary Ann to join us in commemorating her life and sharing food and memories. A Rosary will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 6:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service on Friday May 3, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Bernadette's Church located at 11401 Indian School Rd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87112. A reception will follow at 2:00 PM at Mary Ann's home at 11005 Vistazo Pl. SE Albuquerque, NM 87123.
