Alfonso Roberto Romero passed away on August 9, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at just 45 years old. Born on June 20, 1980, in Apple Valley, California, Alfonso brought joy and love to those around him during his brief time on earth.
Known as " Fonzie/Oso/Bear," Alfonso was a man whose presence was both comforting and uplifting. He had a goofy sense of humor that could light up any room and a loving nature that made him a steadfast protector to those he cared about. He cherished time spent with family and friends, finding happiness in their company and creating lasting memories through laughter and love. Alfonso had a deep passion for making music. Whether composing beats or sharing his creations with others, music was not just a hobby—it was an extension of his spirit and creativity. He also loved drawing, coloring and journaling to pass the time.
He was the beloved son of Frances and Valentino Romero, who preceded him in death. Though his life was short, Alfonso’s memory will live on through the deep love of his family and the stories shared by those who knew him.
Alfonso is lovingly remembered by his sons Alfonso Jr., Izaiah, and Elias Romero; his granddaughter Indigo Romero; the mother of his children Antoinette Lucero; his sister Doreen and her wife Bridgett Davis; his brother Valentino Jr.; and his brother-in-law Bobby Okumoto. He is also remembered by his many nieces and nephews: Bobby Jr. 3rd, Steven, Joelisa, Joshua, Valentino Jr. 3rd, Angelo, Isaiah, Mariah, Priseis, Natalie, Aria, Kahlaya, and Kahlani—as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who continue to honor his memory.
Though he left this world far too soon, Alfonso’s spirit—affectionately known as Fonzie, Oso, or Bear—remains a cherished part of his family's story. May the memory of Alfonso Romero bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire love and laughter in their hearts.
