Jean Jacob Bordenave, aka "Jake", 81, of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024.
Jake Bordenave was born on December 8, 1942, in Watsonville, California. He grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico with a love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and birdwatching. After attending New Mexico State University, Jake built a successful career as an engineer in New Mexico, leaving a lasting impact in his field. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Bordenave; his father, Jack Bordenave; and his stepmother, Ann Bordenave. Jake is survived by his siblings, Louis Bordenave, Kristine Bordenave, and Katie Bordenave, along with their spouses. He leaves behind his daughters, Dayna Melvin, Yvonne Christner, and Tiffany O'Connell, and their spouses. He is also survived by his dear grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jake's life was marked by his passion for his work and love for the game of volleyball. A private family ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial gifts be made to the ABQ BioPark, a cause that was close to Jake's heart.
