Marina O. Benavidez

Marina O. Benavidez of Santa Fe, New Mexico passed away on her 93rd Birthday at home in the loving care of her daughter Rosella Garcia (Frank). Marina was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Rafael and Ruby Ortiz and settled in Albuquerque where she retired from the State of New Mexico.

Marina was a devout Catholic and prayed her rosary nightly at 7:30 p.m. sharp! She loved to travel, garden, and cook. She treasured time with her siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren who called her "Grandma Grape" and friends that have become family thru the years whom will miss her deeply. She was the matriarch of generations and carried it strongly and proudly. Leaving us all with so much love and knowledge. 

She is proceeded in death by her parents Rafael and Ruby Griego. Sons Edward and Michael Benavidez. Son-in-law David Anaya, Grandsons Mario Benavidez, Anthony and Matthew Anaya.  Brother Ralph Ortiz, Jr. Sisters Sophie Gonzalez, Margie Martinez, and Mary Helen (Nena) Espinosa. Whom she missed deeply and couldn't wait to be reunited with each and every one of them. We can only imagine what a beautiful reunion it was.
