Rebecca Glover Obituary

Rebecca Jane Glover, 60, was born to the late McRichey and Helen Dolores Peck Alsobrook on June 22, 1960, in Joplin, MO.

She graduated to glory on Valentines Day, Sunday, February 14, 2021 at her home after a lengthy illness.

Rebecca worked for oil and gas companies both in TX and NM, and has served as office manager for RESPEC for many years.  She is known for her proficiency and tenacity, her amazing ability to interact with others, and her willingness to accept any new task as a challenge. She, along with her husband, owned Director’s Choice Mortuary Services in Albuquerque since 2008.

Rebecca married her high school sweetheart, Craig Glover, on March 11, 1977 in Amarillo, TX.  They met on her 16th birthday and worked together at Dunkin Donuts.

The Glovers were blessed with three lovely daughters: Jennifer, Julie, and Grace, and son Jacob.

Friends were abundant and any friend was certain they had found a lasting treasure in her.

Rebecca enjoyed raising their children as a hands-on mother and ran a tight ship in her always-neat home.  She was an exemplary wife and mother, always going beyond the call of duty and creating such a homey atmosphere that produced a closely knit family.  Her children adored her for the love she exuded, influencing and molding them into the adults they would become.

For nearly 44 years, she was the whole center and focus of her husband’s very existence, and the object of his unending love. Although heartbroken, Craig proclaims that a true love story never ends.

She taught classes at church, and pastors were certain to call upon her help as they recognized her very apparent leadership skills.  A crowning satisfaction in Rebecca’s life was her long-standing weekly ladies Bible study group.  She threw herself into the study of God’s word and dug deeply to acquire much knowledge as a self-taught Bible teacher.  And yet the women were drawn even more by the heartfelt spiritual guidance they found at her Tuesday night meetings.  Such a fellowship sprang up in this tightknit group as the women became rooted in one another’s lives.  A deep level of covenant relationship sprouted among them as their love and caring flowed between them.  When one was moving, they would all come help pack.  These women came to depend on one another as surely as family members.

Everyone who knew Rebecca could not help but be taken by her beauty and grace, her class – and admiring her intelligence, her organizational skills, her amazing determination in whatever she set her hand to.

As such a multi-talented person who captivated our interest, she was, however, much more than the sum of all these characteristics.  Her deeper qualities of genuine concern for people – her long sessions of intense prayer and intercession for the needs of others – were ultimately what set her apart.  Rebecca was a true light set in a dark world – shining out the love of Jesus to those around her.  She influenced many lives, marking them forever.  She lived out her faith, and glorified God in life and in death with unshakeable resolve.  She showed us the heart of the Heavenly Father.  She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Rebecca is preceded in death by her brother, David Alsobrook of Nashville, TN, and brother-in-law, James Maloney of Argyle, TX.

She is survived by her husband, Craig; children Jennifer (Scott) Atkinson of Albuquerque; Jacob (Dodie) Glover of Tlapa de Comonfort, Mexico; Julie Goode of Grapevine, TX; and Grace (Ryan) Crume of Costa Mesa, CA.

Grandchildren: Landon Goode; Hannah, Abigail, Evelyn, and Caroline Glover; Lilli and Cannon Goode; sisters, Kathryn Nell Alsobrook of Fort Worth and Joy Maloney of Argyle, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
