Ronald Duran Obituary

Ronald "Ronson" Duran, a beloved member of the Albuquerque community, passed away in his home on July 19th, 2024. He was born on October 7th, 1949 and spent his entire life as a proud resident of Alameda.

Ronson's passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew him.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Mary Duran, sibling's Christy Duran, Alice Benevidez, Son Joseph Duran, Grandchild Carlease Duran and partner Rafelita Vigil.

He is survived by his spouse Evangelina Duran; children Ronnie Duran and wife Melissa Duran; Carlos Duran; Raquel Chavez; grandchildren Alexis, Joe, Tomas, Alicia, Evangelynn, Carlos Duran and the entire Vigil Family.

 

As a skilled stucco and construction worker with a passion for landscaping, Ronson dedicated himself to his craft and took great pride in his work. His talents extended beyond his professional endeavors;
He had an exceptional gift for building things with his hands and would often share his creations with others - whether it be building ladders, stools, making jerky, pinon and homemade wine. 

Throughout his life, Ronson found joy in throwing mantanzas and spending quality time with those he held dear. He was Known for his love of dancing and listening to his favorite Spanish music on 89.1.


Ronson was a man of great humor and generosity. He had an infectious smile and a kind heart that endeared him to all who knew him. His selfless nature was evident in the way he would give anything he had just to put a smile on someone's face.

Ronson had a unique way of making people laugh with his quick wit and generous words of advice. Ronson was a man of great character and strength who faced life's challenges with unwavering determination and resilience.

His warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

 

Ronson leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

 

Rosary will be held at Our lady of the Most Holy Rosary on August 7, 2024, at 10:15 am, Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am, services will be held after at Mt. Calvary. Reception will be after in the Sala at Holy Rosary.
